Last updated: June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how BusinessValuation.co.uk ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners.

2. Types of cookies we use

Essential storage

Required for the website to function, for example security tokens, form state and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4, only with your consent)

If you select "Accept analytics", we load Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, for consent-based usage analytics. We use it to see which pages and calculators are useful so we can improve them. It is not loaded at all until you accept, and nothing is sent if you reject.

Information collected: page views, page path, device type, browser, approximate location derived by Google from your IP address, and the GA4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that distinguish visits. We also send these events: calculator_hub_view, calculator_card_click, calculator_start, calculator_result_view, summary_report_request, summary_report_download, summary_report_email, adviser_copy_request, adviser_review_click and footer_cta_click, with only the calculator name, page path, button location, calculator category, device category, completion state and consent state. We never send calculator figures, valuation results, report references, private report links, free-text answers or submitted contact details.

Retention: GA4 event data is kept for 14 months; GA4 cookies last up to 2 years unless you withdraw consent or clear them.

Advertising and marketing

We do not use advertising, remarketing or marketing cookies or pixels.

3. Third-party cookies

The only third-party cookies are the Google Analytics cookies described above, set only after you consent. Google's own privacy policy applies to its processing.

4. Managing your cookie preferences

You can withdraw or change consent at any time using "Cookie settings" in the site footer. Withdrawing stops Google Analytics immediately and removes its cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser. Useful links:
