Data Controller

Exit Partners Limited, trading as BusinessValuation.co.uk, is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What Data We Collect

When you submit the contact form, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (optional)
• Your company name (optional)
• The contents of your message

We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) for security and diagnostics purposes.

How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to provide the business valuation or advisory services you have asked about. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party marketers.

Third-Party Processors

To operate this website and respond to your enquiries, we use trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Email delivery service. We use a secure email service provider to deliver contact form submissions to our inbox. They process your name, email and message content only for delivery purposes.
• Hosting / CDN provider. Our website is served via a cloud hosting platform which may log IP addresses and request metadata for operational and security purposes.

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements that require them to handle your data in accordance with UK GDPR and only for the purposes we specify.

Valuation Preparation Plan

Our Valuation Preparation Plan tool asks you to choose bands and options that describe your business, plus an optional short description. Please do not include customer names, employee information, bank details or commercially sensitive information.

• Your answers are sent to a secure automated text service, operated on our behalf under a data processing agreement, which assembles the plan from our own published methodology. It has no internet access and your answers are not used to train any model.
• If you simply read your plan on screen, we do not store your answers or the plan. We only save them when you ask us to email, download or share a copy.
• Where you request a copy, we store your plan, your answers, your name, email and any telephone number so we can send it and follow up if you asked us to. Saved plans and their links are private and the links expire after seven days.
• If you send a copy to an adviser, their name, firm and email are used only to send that one plan. They are never added to a marketing list.
• Our website analytics record only that a plan was built or a copy requested. They never record your financial answers or your description.
• Saved plans are retained for up to 24 months from your last contact. You can ask us to delete yours at any time by emailing info@businessvaluation.co.uk.

Indicative Business Value Summary

Our Indicative Business Value Summary tool lets you enter figures from your accounts manually so we can produce an automated indicative value and, if you ask, a summary report. Document upload is not currently available.

• Why we process it: to calculate an indicative value and send the report you request. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request and, for follow-up about your enquiry, your consent.
• How the value is calculated: by fixed rules only. No artificial intelligence selects your earnings, adjustments, multiple or value. Report emails are sent by our email delivery provider.
• If you request the report: we keep your name, email, telephone (if given), business name, sector, broad turnover, EBITDA and value bands, your stated reason and timescale, your consent and how you found us. We do not keep your detailed financial line items with your enquiry. The generated report is held in private storage and deleted when its seven-day link expires.
• Adviser copies: an adviser's name, firm and email are used only to send that one report and are never added to a marketing list.
• Marketing: your information is not used for marketing unless you separately consent.
• Retention and your rights: enquiry records are retained for up to 24 months from your last contact. You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, or object to processing, by emailing info@businessvaluation.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months from your last contact, after which it is securely deleted unless we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory or accounting reasons.

Your Data Subject Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access. Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification. Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure. Request deletion of your personal data (the "right to be forgotten").
• Right to restrict processing. Request that we limit how we use your data.
• Right to data portability. Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
• Right to object. Object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.

This website uses only essential cookies required to deliver the page and maintain security. These include session and CSRF-protection cookies necessary for form submission.

We do not use tracking, analytics, advertising or third-party marketing cookies. No cookie consent banner is required because all cookies placed are strictly necessary for the operation of the site.
